Top 5 Best Mongolian CS2 Teams in 2025
The Mongolian Counter-Strike 2 scene has gained such momentum that it’s already impossible to ignore. In 2025, teams from Mongolia consistently reach top positions, earn prize money in international tournaments, and with every match strengthen their place in the Valve Global Ranking. These squads have fierce lineups, an aggressive playing style, and an immense hunger for victories.
In this article, I’ll present my personal top-5 of the best Mongolian CS2 teams: their current rosters, earned amounts, positions in the beta Valve ranking as of May 31, and why the entire region—and not only—currently follows them closely. And yes, this ranking is more of an overview than a strict rating: the order is based on total prize money earned, from lower to higher.
5. The Huns Esports (#43) — $48,510 earned
This team appeared quite recently—on October 21, 2023. The project wasn’t born spontaneously: it was founded by Tuvshinbileg Lkhagvasuren (better known by the nickname oroitsonboroo), a man who set himself the goal of assembling a roster capable not just of participating, but genuinely competing on the Asian CS2 scene. And it must be said, he didn’t miss. This is the youngest Mongolian team in our top, but calling them “newcomers” already feels somewhat strange.
As of May 2025, The Huns are playing with the following lineup:
- nin9 (Yesuntumur Gantulga)
- Bart4k (Baatarkhuu Batbold)
- cobrazera (Anarbileg Uuganbayar)
- yAmi (Yalalt Oyunbileg)
- xerolte (Munkhtogtokh Enkhbat)
Despite being slightly over one and a half years old, this team has already managed to secure 1st place at MESA Pro Series Spring 2025 and took bronze at ESL Challenger League Season 49: Asia Pacific—results worthy of attention even against more experienced teams. As for future tournaments, there haven’t yet been announcements, but don’t doubt it: The Huns will appear in the brackets of major events again—and, most likely, more than once.
4. Eruption (#64) — $53,516 earned
Fourth place in the list of best Mongolian CS2 teams is held by Eruption—a team with character, history, and ambition. First appearing on the scene in December 2020, this team went through periods of formation and rebranding: from 2023 to 2024, the squad competed under the name Aravt, and then evolved into a new identity—as Eruption. In 2025, Eruption consistently ranks among the most active and prominent representatives of Mongolian esports.
The current Eruption roster as of May 2025 is:
- NEUZ (Uuganbayar Nyam-Otgon)
- sk0R (Tengis Batjargal)
- MagnumZ (Telmen Khurelkhuu)
- fury5k (Davaasuren Ganbaatar)
- sideffect (Tengis Purevsuren)
This Mongolian CS2 roster demonstrates gameplay combining aggression, precision, and a clear team structure. Players perfectly sense the rhythm, know how to pressure opponents, and quickly adapt. In recent months, the Mongolian CS2 team Eruption has shown excellent results: 2nd place at MESA Pro Series 2025: Road to Nomadic Masters ($10,000), and another 2nd place at MESA Pro Series Spring 2025 ($10,000).
What’s especially pleasing—Eruption already has a confirmed busy tournament schedule. The team will participate in all four stages of ESL Challenger League Season 50: Asia—in August, September, October, and November 2025. This means we will definitely see them in action again and again, and quite possibly—soon, even one step closer to a title!
3. ATOX (#84)— $115,428 earned
The Mongolian CS2 team ATOX was founded in June 2023—just a couple of months before The Huns, the 5th-place team in our ranking. But within this short time, they’ve already managed to earn almost 2.5 times more prize money. And this is no accident. From the very beginning, ATOX emphasized discipline, experience, and aggressive gameplay, which quickly yielded results. Today, the CS2 team ATOX is a consistent participant in major tournaments and one of the most noticeable Mongolian teams in the CS2 world.
As of May 2025, the current roster of ATOX looks like this:
- dobu (Gan-Erdene Batbold)
- kabal (Bat-Enkh Batbayar)
- MiQ (Temuulen Byambadalai)
- AccuracyTG (Otgonlkhagva Batjargal)
- Zesta (Munkhsaikhan Erdenebaatar)
From the first months of their existence, ATOX actively participated in Asian CS2 tournaments, consistently reached playoffs, and gained recognition. In 2024, the team took 2nd place at eXTREMESLAND, and later confidently secured 1st place at Perfect World Arena Premier League Season 4—two significant results that cemented their position among the best Mongolian CS2 teams.
Currently, as of May 2025, there are no tournament announcements for ATOX, but judging by their pace, the wait won’t be long. This Mongolian CS2 team has already demonstrated they can compete equally with the strongest in the region—and they clearly don’t plan to stop!
2. IHC Esports (#139) — $123,957 earned
The second place among Mongolia’s strongest CS2 teams is held by the team through which many first got acquainted with Mongolian esports—IHC Esports. Unlike their younger competitors, this Mongolian team was established back in the CS:GO era—in December 2021, when virtually no one was talking about Mongolian CS on the international stage. The project was founded by Gantig Bayarmagnai, Kaine (Baasanjav Munkh-Aldar), and Darkist (Nasandelger Namsrai), and regardless of what anyone might say, IHC Esports is one of the first Mongolian professional teams that managed to transcend the local scene and make themselves known at a global level.
As of late May 2025, the roster is as follows:
- shinobi (Telmen Batzorig)
- rate (Tengis Boldbaatar)
- Veccil (Bilegsaihan Riina)
- rhittacrit (Turbold Turbat)
- Aapestt (Munkhnaran Zorigtbaatar)
The team became globally memorable thanks to their participation in PGL Major Antwerp 2022—the first Major in history featuring a Mongolian CS:GO team. Later, IHC transitioned to CS2, and although their path wasn’t easy, by May 2025 they had earned $123,957 in prize money and firmly established themselves as one of the most recognizable tags in Mongolian esports.
At the moment, future tournaments featuring IHC Esports have not yet been announced, but considering their consistent presence at regional and international events, we can confidently say: we will definitely see this Mongolian CS2 team in action again in 2025.
1. The MongolZ (#5) — $1,477,224 earned
It’s unlikely anyone would be surprised that the top spot among Mongolia’s best CS2 teams is occupied precisely by The MongolZ. This name is known not only to every esports fan in Mongolia but also far beyond its borders. This professional Mongolian CS2 team is a unique case: they have fallen, disappeared, returned—and each time came back stronger. Revived in 2023, they swiftly surged back into the top ranks, showing clearly that Mongolia in CS2 is now serious, long-term, and genuinely dangerous.
The roster of The MongolZ as of late May 2025:
- bLitz (Garidmagnai Byambasuren)
- Techno (Munkhbold Sodbayar)
- Senzu (Munkhbold Azbayar)
- mzinho (Ayush Batbold)
- 910 (Usukhbayar Banzragch)
These are exactly the names everyone who follows the professional CS2 scene knows in 2025. Regarding achievements—they are genuinely significant. Victory at IEM Taipei 2016, a long journey through qualifiers, consistent performances at major stages, and most recently, third place at IEM Melbourne 2025 with a solid $105,000 in prize money.
And this is only the beginning. Very soon, The MongolZ will participate in one of the most prestigious tournaments of the season—BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, which will take place from June 3 to June 22. Their first match is on June 12; the opponent has not yet been announced. This is a chance for the team to declare themselves once again—already on the world stage. You will be able to follow The MongolZ’s matches and make your own free predictions on MelBet Pick’em, and judging by their form, missing their performance is definitely not worth it!
